Colònia de Sant Pere is a small town on the Northeast coast of Mallorca. It is beautifully enclosed between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountain region of Mont Ferrutx. It is an idyllic, quiet holiday town, with barely a few hotels, but the many holiday homes and apartments make Colònia a popular holiday resort. You will not find mass tourism here, and if you like wild nightlife and partying, Colònia de Sant Pere is not the ideal destination. In Colònia de Sant Pere you will find two beaches, one for every kind of beach lover.
Colònia beach is a small cove with a pebble beach and clear water. Families enjoy the sun and the view of the bay of Alcúdia here and children can play to their heart's content in the water and on the beach.
The beach of S'Estanyol (next to the Urbanicacion S'Estanyol in Colònia) is a longer and wider sandy beach, more suitable for water sports enthusiasts and sunbathers. It is a 10-minute walk from the center.
Also recommended is the beach of Son Serra de Marina, the town next to Colònia that is a paradise for water and beach lovers, and for surfers and wind kiters. Many inland Spanish families find the beach of Son Serra great to visit at the weekend.
A day at a tourist resort? 15min by car and you are in Can Picafort, with its long and wide sandy beach. It is very busy here in the summer, but the beach is long and wide and equipped with umbrellas and beach chairs that you can rent.
Colònia de Sant Pere may be a bit smaller and quieter than the most popular seaside resorts, but it has everything you need for a carefree and great holiday. There are 3 supermarkets, a pharmacy, a bank, a marina and rental locations for bicycles and water sports equipment. You can fully enjoy a drink in various bars (on the beach and in the center) and you can choose from countless restaurants, all of which are unique in their kind. You can order takeaway meals, enjoy fresh fish or Mallorcan specialties or enjoy a delicious Italian pizza with a view of the Mediterranean Sea.
There are also real top addresses in the vicinity of Colònia de Sant Pere that you should definitely visit, including. in neighboring Betlem, Son Serra de Marina or Can Picafort. On Saturdays there is a market in Colònia on the Plaza de Eglesia where, in addition to fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish, you can also buy handmade products and typical Mallorcan specialties.
